Soft tissue mass could be seen. Plucked feathers over mass and noted large scabbed wound. Gave 0.11cc Torb IM. Pulled scab and large infectious plug - hole in crop. Looked clean after removing scab and came out in one piece. Cleaned with chlorhex and applied duogel. Covered with telfa and tegaderm. Gave 0.11cc Baytril PO. Put back in cage, dropped 77g pigeon.

A: BAR, eating better but had lost a lot of weight and is skinny. New crop wound noted - unknown when it occurred as it was fully scabbed but not previously noted. Wound may close on its own otherwise will need sutures.

P: Rx meloxicam and baytril, Monitor to see if patient will continue to SF. Can still catch EOD and put meds on food, change bandage EOD

A: BAR. Bleeding is less than on intake according to KK

S: Flared and fell onto side footing in transport box for catch. Kept trying to flare wings and tail and stick crest up while in hand.

Wings: Fx R coracoid, some crepitus felt and shoulder spacing reduced

Feet: Small, old scab on L pad
Body: Keel/pectorals bruised over entire length/width
Feather condition: Good. Older primaries/secondaries a bit thin at tips
Ectoparasites: None seen
Radiographic findings: Confirmed fx to R coracoid. Caudal end is shifted down, further into body cavity. Internal organs look muddled and enlarged. GI full
Initial treatment: Gave 0.13cc torb IM + 0.41cc meloxicam PO + 30cc LRS SQ in R inguinal. Wrapped R wing in figure-8 wrap and placed body band. Cleaned blood from mouth with CTAs. Placed in cage in CC room

A: Guarded prognosis. R coracoid fx and internal trauma. ROM of R shoulder still good and joint feels intact despite displacement of coracoid. Most concerned about internal trauma due to how organs look on rads and amount of blood in mouth.

P: Rx 7d tramadol. Rx meloxicam. Rx 3d LRS SQ. Change R wing wrap E3D. Follow up exam at 1st wrap change. Take follow up rads in 2 weeks. Collect blood and fecal tomorrow. Weigh EOD. SF in AM, HF in PM if DNE starting 3/21. Monitor R wing wrap/body band. Monitor bruising to keel. Monitor for blood in mouth.
